The UPward Student Film Festival, part of the Prishtina Summer International University, has launched at the Palace of Youth, where the Kosovo National Theatre conducts its activities.

Professor Hazir Haziri, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, formally opened the festival, describing it as a vital platform for inter-student knowledge exchange. In her remarks, Professor Rozafa Basha, Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Academic Exchange, emphasized that the Prishtina Summer International University serves not only as UP’s primary platform for academic collaboration but also as a bridge for cultural exchange and enduring friendships—a spirit reflected in the UPward Festival.

Distinguished attendees included His Excellency Petrit Malaj, Ambassador of Albania to Kosovo; Professor Erald Bakalli, Rector of the University of Arts in Tirana; Blerta Zeqiri, Director of the Kosovo Cinematography Center; and local and international students and faculty members.

Following the opening ceremony, the premiere of Fationa Miftari’s film Ku e ki shpinë was screened.

Now in its second edition, the festival is organized by the Faculty of Arts at the University of Prishtina. Over four consecutive days, it will feature short film screenings, workshops, and discussions led by faculty members, students, and visiting colleagues from abroad.
