A memorandum of cooperation in the field of higher education was signed today at the Italian Embassy between the University of Prishtina and "SmartCity Corporation," a partner of the project "Productive and Inclusive Employment in Kosovo, Development of Personal, Professional, and Entrepreneurial Skills for Youth and Women" (the OPIK project).

This project is co-financed by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and led by CELIM – "Centro Laici Italiani per le Missioni".

The memorandum stipulates that the University of Prishtina will cooperate by supporting student registration, providing institutional support, and promoting the "Be Smart in the City" program within its academic community.

Eighty-five percent of the program, which is also the intellectual property of the Italian "SmartCity Corporation," will be conducted online, while 15 percent will be held in person. This structure will therefore provide highly favorable access to students, regardless of their geographical location.

The program has a duration of 200 hours and comprises 18 specialized modules for training in the field of digital transformation of cities using the most modern technologies.

The memorandum was signed by the Rector of the University of Prishtina, Prof. Dr. Arben Hajrullahu, and the Executive Director of "SmartCity Corporation," Prof. Giulia Agrosi, in the presence of the Ambassador of Italy to Kosovo, His Excellency Maurizio Antonini, and the Director General of CELIM, Davide Raffa.

Also present at the signing ceremony were the Vice-Rector for Institutional Development, Quality Assurance, and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Majlinda Gjelaj; the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Prof. Dr. Violeta Nushi; the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Prof. Dr. Florim Graiçevci; the Executive Assistant to the Rector, Fitore Seferi; as well as other invited guests and stakeholders.
