University of Pristina and MCA Kosovo committed to the functionalization of the Center for Training and Innovation in Energy
Representatives of MCA-Kosovo (Millennium Challenge Account – Kosovo) and the leadership of the University of Prishtina held a working meeting regarding the "JETA" project, a component of the "Compact" program, which aims to strengthen the country’s energy sector and increase youth engagement in the field.
MCA Kosovo’s Executive Director Florina Duli-Sefaj, Deputy Executive Director for Projects Burim Hashani, and Director of the "JETA" Project Hamit Qeriqi were welcomed by the Rector of the University of Prishtina, Prof. Arben Hajrullahu; Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Academic Exchange, Prof. Rozafa Basha; Vice-Rector for Institutional Development, Quality Assurance, and Student Affairs, Prof. Majlinda Gjelaj; Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, Projects, and Innovation, Prof. Avni Hajdari; and the Rector’s Legal Advisor, Rina Mehana.
Rector Hajrullahu, expressing gratitude to the U.S. government and taxpayers for the "Compact" program, conveyed confidence that its implementation will significantly support the University of Prishtina (UP) and the nation’s economic development.
Through the cooperation between MCA and UP, plans are underway to establish a Center for Training and Innovation in Energy at the University of Prishtina. This center will prepare young professionals aspiring to build careers in the energy sector.
The "JETA" component and this center within UP aim to create a training and skills development system. This system will enable participants to become more competitive in the regional job market and contribute to the country's economic development.
