University of Prishtina Signs Cooperation Memorandum with the University of Iowa
The University of Prishtina and the University of Iowa in the United States have formalized their cordial relations and ongoing cooperation through a memorandum of understanding.
The memorandum envisions joint initiatives in the fields of teaching, training, and scientific research. These initiatives stem from the University of Iowa's program, the "Private Sector Partnership for Strengthening Higher Education in Kosovo," implemented in cooperation with the University of Prishtina.
The memorandum also includes provisions for the exchange of professors and graduates, as well as invitations to participate in conferences, symposia, and seminars organized by both universities. Furthermore, programs will be organized to develop the talents of students and professors from both institutions.
During the meeting, prior to the signing of the memorandum, a shared vision was established, and a commitment was expressed to further develop the partnership between the two higher education institutions in the future.
For the solemn signing ceremony at the Rectorate of the University of Prishtina, the delegation was led by the Dean of International Programs at the University of Iowa, Professor Russell Ganim, and the former Dean of the College of Pharmacy at the same university, Professor Donald E. Letendre. They were accompanied by the Professor of the Pharmacy Department at the UP Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Pranvera Breznica-Selmani.
The guests were welcomed by the Rector, Prof. Arben Hajrullahu, and the Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Academic Exchange, Prof. Rozafa Basha.
Last year, with the assistance of the American professor, Donald E. Letendre, the Institute of Pharmacy was established within the Faculty of Medicine. Its purpose is to enhance the research and professional capacities of the University of Prishtina and to develop the pharmaceutical sector in Kosovo
