University of Prishtina signs an agreement with one of Europe’s most prestigious film academies, the Łódź Film School
Today, a highly promising Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation was signed between the Łódź Film School from Poland, represented by Rector Prof. Milenia Fiedler, and the University of Prishtina, represented by Rector Prof. Arben Hajrullahu.
The Memorandum marks an important step forward in strengthening collaboration in jointly developed projects, the creation of academic programs, as well as the exchange of students and faculty. Rector Arben Hajrullahu expressed his great satisfaction with this agreement, emphasizing that: “This Memorandum connects the University of Prishtina with the prestigious Łódź Film School and has the potential to contribute to the further development of the film field — through academic exchanges, enhanced capacities for film studies, and the continued growth of Kosovo’s film industry.” At the meeting at the Łódź Film School, Rector Hajrullahu was accompanied by the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Poland, Mr. Drilon S. Gashi, as well as the Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Academic Exchange, Prof. Rozafa Basha.
The Łódź Film School is one of Europe’s most prestigious film academies, having shaped generations of influential directors, cinematographers, and artists in Poland and internationally. Founded in 1948, the “Polish Film School” has produced eminent figures such as Andrzej Wajda, Roman Polański, Krzysztof Kieślowski, Jerzy Skolimowski, Zbigniew Rybczyński, and many others. The School is recognized for its rigorous artistic training, strong auteur tradition, and a culture that fosters innovation and cinematic freedom.
The University of Prishtina will prioritize the implementation of today’s memorandum through student and faculty exchanges, collaborative ideas and practices, and the achievement of shared goals with the Łódź Film School. We hope that with the presence of our students in Łódź, and through cooperation with this institution, we will continue to advance Kosovo’s growing film industry — moving beyond our imagination and toward new successes.
