The University of Prishtina and the University of Gjirokastër Sign Cooperation Agreement
The University of Prishtina and the University of Gjirokastër "Eqrem Çabej" today signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen their cooperation.
This memorandum outlines the exchange of students at all levels of study, mutual visits by academic staff and research experts, the development of joint projects, the organization of collaborative activities, and the exchange of information and scientific publications in areas of mutual interest.
Prior to the official signing ceremony, a meeting was held where it was emphasized that the agreement should not remain merely a document on paper but should be actively implemented to benefit both universities. Participants also highlighted that, unlike the challenging past shared by the two countries, today, the will to cooperate is sufficient, and no external obstacles can hinder such collaboration anymore.
The memorandum was signed by the Rectors, Prof. Dr. Arben Hajrullahu and Prof. Dr. Jaho Cana. Present at the event were the Vice Rector for Internationalisation and Academic Exchange of the University of Prishtina, Prof. Dr. Rozafa Basha; the Vice Rector for Research and International Relations of the University of Gjirokastër, Prof. Dr. Merita Isaraj; the Head of the Scientific Research and International Relations Department at the University of Gjirokastër, Irma Gjolleshi; and the Administrator, Sami Golemaj.
The University of Gjirokastër, established on the foundation of the former Higher Pedagogical Institute, is the most significant educational, scientific, and cultural institution in southern Albania.
One of the main goals of the University of Prishtina is fostering inter-university cooperation, as in today’s era of continuous technological advancement, no university can achieve its mission alone.
