The New Steering Council of UP is Constituted and Begins its Work

At its inaugural meeting, the new Steering Council (SC) of the University of Prishtina (UP) was completed with the addition of delegates from the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation (MAShTI).

During this meeting, Altin Sahiti was re-elected as Chairperson, and Arbëresha Nela-Turjaka was re-elected as Vice-Chairperson.

The first meeting of the SC, which now includes six new members, was chaired by Prof. Teuta Kajtazi-Jashari. The meeting saw the approval of reports from MAShTI and the UP Senate regarding the appointments and elections to the Steering Council by the Ministry of Education and the University itself.

MAShTI replaced two members from the previous SC composition by appointing Myesere Hoxha and Berenika Gashi, while Altin Sahiti and Arbëresha Nela-Turjaka had their mandates renewed.

The members of the Steering Council from UP's academic staff, Prof. Mimoza Ibrani, Prof. Teuta Jashari-Kajtazi, Prof. Arian Krasniqi, Prof. Vjosa Fejza-Ademi, and Prof. Kurtesh Sherifi, were elected at the end of June 2025.

The newly composed UP Steering Council is now fully constituted with Chairperson Altin Sahiti, Vice-Chairperson Arbëresha Nela-Turjaka, and members Myesere Hoxha, Berenika Gashi, Mimoza Ibrani, Teuta Jashari-Kajtazi, Arian Krasniqi, Vjosa Fejza-Ademi, and Kurtesh Sherifi. The council includes six women.
