Successful Completion of the Three-Day Training “Career Development in Three Steps: Competencies, Labor Market, and Assessment Tools”
On December 3rd, 4th, and 5th, 2025, the University of Pristina, through the Division for Academic Development, Quality, Monitoring, and Career Services, in collaboration with Rotary Club Pristina and District 2485 (Albania & Kosovo), organized the three-day training program “Career Development in Three Steps: Competencies, Labor Market, and Assessment Tools.”
The training was conducted for 24th certified students, providing them with in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge to empower them in professional development, labor market orientation, and enhancing their competitiveness in the career path. Students highly appreciated the three-day training, emphasizing that the daily thematic structure helped them gain a comprehensive and practical understanding of career development.
The first day, focused on self-assessment of competencies, was considered especially useful, as participants had the opportunity to identify their strengths and areas for growth through individual exercises and group discussions. On the second day, labor market analysis and the presentation of emerging professions were highly valued for career orientation, while the session on personal brand development was highlighted as one of the most practical parts of the training. The final day, centered on Assessment Center methods, was particularly well received due to role-play activities, simulations, and concrete examples that helped students understand the assessment process from an employer’s perspective and how to prepare effectively. Overall, students stated that the training helped them develop a more strategic approach to their careers and gain direct employability skills.
The training was delivered by certified trainers from Business Development Group and the Institute for Peace and Security (IPS), recognized professionals in career development, entrepreneurship, and leadership. Theoretical lectures were combined with practical sessions, allowing students to apply acquired knowledge directly.
Students also had the opportunity to benefit from a short presentation on scholarships by the Georgia Rotary Student Program (GRSP) https://www.grsp.org learning about key selection criteria, how to prepare a competitive application, and the unique opportunities offered by the scholarship. During the presentation, they were introduced to international experiences available through the program, including one-year studies in the USA, building professional and cultural networks, and personal development through engagement with the Rotary community.
During the three days of training, students worked closely with professional trainers in the fields of career development, labor market, and professional assessment.
Florentina Dushi, trainer from Business Development Group, emphasized the importance of competency self-assessment as a first step toward successful employment:
"Students gained a clear approach to analyze their strengths and build personalized development plans necessary for the modern labor market."
Meanwhile, Burim Korqa, trainer from IPS, focused on labor market analysis and building effective employment strategies:
"Participants gained a better understanding of market trends and practical ways to position their skills in today’s most in-demand professions."
At the conclusion of the program, with the support of the trainers, students produced a practical bulletin on “Career Development in Three Steps: Competencies, Labor Market, and Assessment Tools.” This bulletin serves as a guide for other University of Pristina students, offering clear methods and advice for career orientation.
Students involved expressed great enthusiasm about the experience. They reported that the program directly contributed to their academic and professional growth.
