Professor Owada: Kosovo’s Victory is a Human Victory
Honored with the title Doctor Honoris Causa by the University of Prishtina, Professor Hisashi Owada stated that what has been achieved in Kosovo is a human victory rather than a victory between nations.
The globally renowned jurist in international law, after receiving the highest honorary title conferred by the University of Prishtina, delivered an impactful lecture titled “Why War? A Reflection on the Public Order of the International Community.”
Professor Hisashi Owada identified the desire for power, deeply rooted in the human psyche, as one of the forces obstructing efforts toward peace.
Reflecting on the 1930s dialogue between physicist Albert Einstein and psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud regarding humanity’s most acute problems, the distinguished professor observed that little has fundamentally changed since that time.
Professor Hisashi Owada concluded his lecture at the University of Prishtina by affirming that he remains optimistic, as humanity has historically made progress and learned from its mistakes.
He expressed gratitude to the University of Prishtina for the honor bestowed upon him and to all individuals who contributed to this occasion.
