PRACTICAL WORK IN KEK, KOSTT, AND ZZE

Opened for students of the University of Prishtina for the following faculties:

Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering (FECE), 6 MA students in these fields:

Industrial Electroenergetics

Electroenergetic Systems

Computer Engineering

Electronics

Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, 4 MA students in these fields:

Termoenergetics and Termotechnics

Mechatronics

Renewable Resources

Faculty of Law, 1 MA student

Faculty of Economics, 2 MA students

Criteria for application:

All students who fulfill the following criteria have the right to apply:

  1. Must be MA students. If the number of MA students for students of FECE and FME is not fulfilled, then BA graduates or those who are in the final year of studies may be taken into consideration.
  2. The average grade must be above 8 for FECE and FME students, while above 9 for the candidate from the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Economics.
  3. English language knowledge.

All the qualified people who fulfill the criteria mentioned above, will be interviewed by the interviewing panel of KEK, KOSTT, ZRrE and REPOWER.

To evaluate the knowledge of English Language, a part of the interview will be done in this language.

The whole process will be administrated and monitored by the Office for Academic Development/ Centre for Career Development of UP.

The practical work is paid.

The chosen students for practical work in KEK, KOSTT, and ZRrE will be paid from the REPOWER project through UP. Every student will sign a contract for this engagement with UP. The practical work will start on 1st of October, 2018 and will continue for six (6) months.

Duties and responsibilities for interns

The Support for the Operator of the System of Transmission and Market (KOSTT)

The assistance for the Operator of the Market (3 engineering students/ of the energy sector)

The intern will offer support for the “Responsible Operator” and “the Operator” in daily activities due to the job description, as the following:

  1. The support for the assurance of market operation according to rules of the market.

The support for the nomination of contractual programs for all pairs in the market of electrical energy

The admission of information from clients for the predictions of the System Operator, and the compensation programs for the following day, but also for the realization of the daily program.

The admission of contractual nominations from pairs in the market of electrical energy for the following day.

The dispatch to the short-term production program in the sector, to the consume and exchange in interaction for purposes of analysis of physical realization.

The admission of information from OS for the realization of the nominated program.

The discussion of the contractual nominations matching between participants and the request from pairs to regulate their nominations in case of mismatching.

The discussion of whether programs of international exchange are harmonized, and their harmonization in neighboring OSTs.

The dispatch of harmonized data to the coordinating subject in hierarchy.

The admission of information from the highest subject in hierarchy for the matching of transboundary programs.

The notification of pairs in the market for the approval of their programs and the possible changes in case of mismatchings.

The delivery of final approved program to the Distribution Center.

The dispatch of the report of the program approved at ZRrE and the Ministry for Economic Development.

The support for the allocation of interconnectional capacities

The admission of information from OS for transboundary capacities in the boundaries of KOSTT and neighboring OSTs, and the publication in the KOSTT webpage of the transmission capacities in disposition for yearly, monthly, daily auctions.

The maintenance of the pairs’ register with the right of participation in transboundary capacities auctions.

The organization of yearly, monthly, daily auctions according to the need for the allocation of the load capacities of KOSTT’s boundaries, in accordance with the bilateral agreements with neighboring OSTs.

The information of the System Operator for auction results and pairs who have won the right of physical transmission.

The exchange of information with neighboring OSTs for the pairs who have won the right of physical transmission in boundaries between them.

The support for the auctions of Market Operation

The admission of offers for sale and purchase of electrical energy in conditions of the organized market.

The information of the electrical energy market participants and the Operator of the System of Transmission for auction results of the organized market and other information about the market.

The support for organizing electrical energy market balance for ex-ante

The collection of offers, the compilation of priority economic operators’ list, and forward them to the system operator.

Support in other fields for the Market Operator Department.

The support for the Information and Communication Technology (ICT)

The compilation and implementation of ICT strategy

The development or improvement of hardware, software

The frame of security and control for systems of ICT

The support of IT of the corporation or business

The maintenance of hardware and software

The hosting of internal computer network

The operation of administration of financial and documentary system

Servers of Internet, Intranet and Web-Server

Arrangements of the system archive and saving of the back-up copy

The design and maintenance of web

The development of global ICT

The support for Economic issues of KOSTT (2 students of the Faculty of Economics)

Helps in daily processes of the market operator activities

The assurance of general administrative support for the economic sector of KOSTT

Offering help in daily activities of the processes of the company procurement

Helps in the Project Implementation Unit for the economic part of project implementation

The assurance of help in daily activities of Human Resources.

The support for Energetic Corporation of Kosova ECK (KEK) Sh.A

The support for the Coal Division (2 engineers of electronics/ automatics/ mechatronics)

  1. The participation in eliminating breakdowns, which happen during the operation with different electronic equipment controlled by PLC
  2. Assistance in the configuration of Industrial PCs, installment of programs for PLC ( AAB Siemens ), Panel Operator, LAN, WLAN, and others.
  3. Participation in the reading and treatment of schemes for different electronic circles, and in the repairment.
  4. Assistance in the processes of installment and parametricism – the configuration of equipment and others.
  5. Participation in the compilation of yearly, monthly, weekly maintenance needs reports for equipment.
  6. Participation in the reading and treatment of schemes for different electrical circles and in their regulation.

The support for the Generation Division – TC Kosova A (2 engineers/ of energy/ of mechanics)

  1. Assistance for the Departments of Electrics/Mechanics in daily activities, in executing different works needed in the main asset of the central.
  2. Assistance in undertaking activities and preventive measures.
  3. Assistance for the main engineer in his/her daily duties.
  4. Support for the main personnel in the compilation of plans for overhauls.
  5. Support for the main personnel in the compilation of needs for investments.
  6. Support in technological processes, by technological schemes.

The support for the Generation Division – TC Kosova B ( 2 engineers/of energy/of mechanics)

  1. Assistance for the department of Electrics/Mechanicsin day-to-day operations in the execution of various works required in the main assets of the power plant;
  2. Assistance in undertaking activities and precautionary measures;
  3. Assisting the chief engineer in his / her daily duties;
  4. Support for key personnel in the preparation of overhaul plans;
  5. Support for key personnel in preparing investment needs;
  6. Support for technological processes, through technological schemes

The Support to the Energy Regulatory Office ERO (ZRrE)

Assistance to the Department of Renewable Resources (1 Energy Engineer/ Mechanical Engineer)

• Helps in analyzing applications for Renewable Resources RES (BRE);

• Assists in analyzing the data submitted by the applicants for Authorization for the construction of generating capacities from RES;

• Participates in field visits of the ongoing projects for which ERO has issued an authorization to build new RES capacities.

• Assists in the preparation of field reports for findings;

• Assists in controlling the fulfillment of deadline agreements for applicants who have received preliminary authorization or the final one;

• Assists in the collection of data on new RES technologies;

• Helps in collecting statistical information on RES energy markets.

• Assists in the preparation of analyzes and reports delegated by the department;

• Assists other departments as requested by these departments;

Assistance for the Legal and Licensing Department (1 Lawyer from the Law Faculty)

• Assists in the preparation of legal acts prepared by the legal department;

• Assists in the analysis of applications for licensing and authorization;

• Assists in controlling the documents received by the licensees;

• Helps monitor the licensed activities;

• Assists in reviewing the legal and regulatory framework and compliance with the Third KE Package;

• Assists the administration office in preparing the reports.

• Assists other departments as needed.
