Mechanical Engineering Congress: Bridging Academia with Job Market and Industry
The First International Congress of Mechanical Engineering (ICME), which began today and continues tomorrow, has gathered local and international professors, professionals, entrepreneurs, and students to discuss and present on academia, the labor market, and industry in the age of artificial intelligence.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Arben Hajrullahu, Rector of the University of Prishtina, highlighted ongoing efforts since assuming his role to align academic programs with industry demands, labor market needs, and the country's economic development.
The Rector emphasized that to address challenges posed by rapid technological advancements, the university has established Center for Artificial Intelligence (AIUP).
At the congress organized by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Prishtina, Dean Prof. Mirlind Bruçi described the event as a platform for knowledge exchange, cooperative partnerships, and shaping the future. Attendees were also addressed by Zef Dedaj, Director of the Kosovo Investment and Enterprise Support Agency (KIESA), and Congress President Prof. Arbnor Pajaziti.
The congress features engineering lectures by researchers, scientists, and professors from the University of Prishtina, regional universities, and institutions across Europe, the United States, and Japan. Over two days, 19 presentations will be delivered alongside a panel discussion and workshop where academic experts and industry representatives will showcase innovations in mechanical engineering.
