An Austrian delegation, comprising officials from the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs, journalists, and representatives from the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), was briefed on the history, current state, and future vision of the University of Prishtina.

Journalists from prominent Austrian media outlets—ORF television, APA news agency, and the "Kurier" newspaper—received information about the University of Prishtina's past, as well as its results, challenges, and goals.

During the discussions, the University of Prishtina's leadership emphasized the continuous support provided by Austria to Kosovo's most important university and its higher education system, both before and after the war.

Austria accepted high school graduates from Kosovo's educational system during the 1990s apartheid period, when that system operated through home-schools following the violent removal of Albanian pupils and students from educational facilities.

Furthermore, the journalists were informed about UP's plans: increasing internal mobility and joint programs among academic units; enhancing external mobility by bringing more professors and students from renowned universities to Prishtina and vice versa; and digital transformation.

In an era where university competition and challenges are global, it was noted that brain circulation—where professors can work at several higher education institutions—is the solution for improving the quality of teaching and scientific research.

The journalists from the three Austrian media outlets, accompanied by Austrian Development Agency (ADA) representatives in Austria and Kosovo—Katharina Schreiber, Rita Glavitza, and Adnan Ahmeti—and the representative of Austria's Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs, Ursula Heinrich, were received by the Rector of the University of Prishtina, Prof. Arben Hajrullahu, and the Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, Projects, and Innovation, Prof. Avni Hajdari.

Rector Hajrullahu's discussions with the Austrian journalists are expected to be covered in the media outlets they represent in the coming days.
