IN THE UP ANTHROPOLOGY DEPARTMENT, A LECTURE FROM THE FRENCH RESEARCHER, DR. LERIN WAS HELD

Dr. François Lerin from the Association of International Development Agencies (AIDA) held a lecture for his two year research in the Sharri cheese geographical indicator in University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina”’s Faculty of Philosophy. During the lecture, he spoke about the types of flora and fauna in Sharr and about all the professional, economic, and cultural practices  of the process of Sharri cheese production from the local cattlemen.

Professors and students of the UP’s Department of Anthropology, Department of Sociology, as well as Department of Political Sciences attended this lecture.

The lecture was concluded with an open discussion among the UP students, who were interested to know more about the potential of studying products of high natural values and the necessary cooperation between the social sciences and the natural ones in this direction.

Dr. Lerin works in large research projects dealing with agroecology and agriculture of high natural values in the Mediterranean as well as the Balkans region. He has recently been interested in the local products of Kosova, respectively in the livestock products of the Sharri mountains.

He was invited from the Department of Anthropology, which every month invites professors from different European countries to lecture before the students of the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina”.
