Hungarian Ambassador Learns About the History, Cooperation, and Goals of the University of Prishtina
During a visit to the University of Prishtina (UP), His Excellency László Dux, the Hungarian Ambassador to Kosovo, was briefed on the university's past, its current state, and its future objectives.
A central theme of the meeting between Ambassador Dux and the leadership of the University of Prishtina was the strengthening of cooperation with Hungarian universities. The Ambassador was informed about the Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed between UP and Hungarian universities, and discussions were also held on identifying common areas of interest for new partnerships.
The parties agreed that MoUs are essential but must be implemented with concrete content. Vice-Rector Basha informed the Ambassador that their implementation has already begun through contacts between faculties within the framework of cooperation established with Hungarian universities. Ambassador Dux also offered his complete assistance in facilitating contacts with other Hungarian higher education institutions.
The meeting also discussed the possibility of organizing Hungarian language courses at the Language Center of the Faculty of Philology, while the Prishtina International Summer University was seen as an excellent opportunity for Hungarian professors and students to come to Prishtina. A large number of Kosovar students study at Hungarian universities, and there is continuous cooperation between professors from UP and those from Hungary.
Ambassador László Dux arrived at the rectorate accompanied by Áron Kerékgyártó, the Economic and Trade Attaché at the Hungarian Embassy in Kosovo. Both guests were received by the Rector, Prof. Dr. Arben Hajrullahu; the Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Academic Exchange, Prof. Dr. Rozafa Basha; and the Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, Projects, and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Avni Hajdari.
In June 2025, the University of Prishtina signed cooperation agreements with six highly prominent universities in Hungary.
