During 2025, the academic staff of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports published two scientific papers in Scopus-indexed journals, funded by the University of Prishtina with €900. The papers were published in journals within the Scopus Q2 and Q4 quartiles (one in Q2 and one in Q4).

Beyond these publications, the academic staff and students of FEFS were actively involved in promoting, developing, and supporting various national sports through daily work, expert guidance, physical performance testing, and participation in competitions.

This year, the faculty also organized the fifth edition of the International Scientific Conference “Sport and Physical Education in the Era of Global Changes: Challenges and Perspectives”.

Key speakers included Prof. Antonio Tessitore from the University of “Foro Italico” a leading Italian institution for physical activity research; Prof. Megan Chawansky, a sports management professor at Otterbein University in the USA; Kosovo’s national football team coach Franco Foda; world-renowned judo coach Driton Kuka; and Kosovo’s first Olympic gold medalist, Majlinda Kelmendi.

The faculty also houses the Institute of Sport Sciences, which measures athletes' performance and fitness. This year, the well-known Kosovo national football player Dion Gallapeni had his performance tested at the institute.

Recently, students from the faculty took part in the 28th International Student Tournament in Dubrovnik. The FEFS men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball teams both earned third place.
