Faculty of Education Conference: Transformative Teaching and Learning in a Globalized World

The Kosovo International Conference on Educational Research (KICER) 2025 commenced at the Faculty of Education of the University of Prishtina. 

The largest conference in the Balkans, which brings together local and international education experts for discussion and exchange of experiences, began with opening remarks from the organizers and continued with keynote speeches by distinguished guests. 

In his address to attendees, the Rector of the University of Prishtina, Prof. Arben Hajrullahu, described the conference as a highly significant event. He emphasized that its research fundamentally addresses the question of where we are and where we are heading in shaping and implementing policies related to the education of current and future generations. 

The Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Blerim Saqipi, highlighted that this international conference, now in its fifth edition, represents a cornerstone in building a culture of research and cooperation in Kosovo. 

A keynote lecture on educational research serving education and society was delivered by the President of the European Educational Research Association (EERA), Prof. Marit Honerød Hoveid. She called for special attention to be devoted to young educational researchers. 

During this year’s conference, which focuses on the theme “Education in a Globalized Era: Challenges and Opportunities for Transformative Teaching and Learning,” 100 selected scientific papers will be presented, two workshops will be organized, and four keynote speeches will take place.
