Erasmus+ CBHE Project "Teach UP" Launches at the Faculty of Philosophy
The project "Teach UP - Transformative Education and Capacity-building for Higher Education Professionals in Political and Social Sciences" has officially launched at the Faculty of Philosophy.
Funded by Erasmus+ CBHE, the project aims to enhance teaching and learning in the fields of Political Science, International Relations, and Human Rights at universities in Kosovo and Albania.
In the opening remarks, it was stated that the "Teach UP" project has clear ambitions to transform teaching methodologies, knowledge dissemination, and inter-university partnerships and collaborations, both regionally and globally.
During the launch day, it was also noted that the project is in full alignment with the University of Prishtina's vision for transparency, meritocracy, accountability, attracting more international professors and students, and facilitating exchanges for UP's academic staff and students to prestigious academic institutions worldwide.
The project also referenced the "brain circulation" initiative, an idea put forward by Rector Prof. Dr. Arben Hajrullahu. Through this initiative, three professors of high academic integrity and extensive international experience from some of the world's most renowned universities have already become associated with UP. It was emphasized that now is the right time for the Faculty of Philosophy and the University of Prishtina to move forward to achieve necessary changes and adapt to the continuously evolving job market.
A key component of this project is the opportunity for UP's academic staff to receive training at Saxion University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands and Paris Lodron University of Salzburg, institutions recognized for their excellence, innovation, and high academic culture.
Opening speeches at the launch of the "Teach UP" project were delivered by the Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, Projects, and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Avni Hajdari, and the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Prof. Dr. Bekim Baliqi. The project coordinator, Teaching Assistant Lirije Palushi, presented the project's details and objectives.
On Tuesday, the second day of the "Teach UP" launch, discussions will focus on implementation timelines, next steps, goal achievement, and conclusions. The project partners include the University of Prishtina, Saxion University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands), Paris Lodron University of Salzburg (Austria), Universum College, the European University of Tirana, New York University Tirana, the Institute for Political, Economic, and Social Studies (IEPSS), and the Center for Education and Development (CED).
