American students learn more about UP and Kosovo
American students of Political Science from the University of North Carolina, accompanied by their professor, Robert Jenkins, received detailed information about the University of Pristina and the state of Kosovo at the Rectorate.
The rector, Prof. Arben Hajrullahu, told his distinguished guests that the University of Pristina is the largest, oldest, and most successful higher education institution in Kosovo, and it is ranked highest on prestigious international platforms among all Albanian-language universities in the Western Balkans region and worldwide where Albanians live.
The rector explained that since taking office as the university’s leader, he has been engaged in internal mobility among academic units at UP—joint study programs aimed at opening, cooperation, and breaking closed cycles. He also spoke about results in external mobility, international partnerships, sending as many students and professors abroad as possible, and bringing students and professors from outside to UP.
Another topic the rector addressed during his lecture to the American students was the role of universities in the era of artificial intelligence. He stated that this development is constantly changing the way teaching is conducted and the role of universities, but emphasized that this intelligence must be used appropriately and ethically.
Hajrullahu also spoke about the pathway to Kosovo statehood and the challenges faced by the new state in a Europe affected and influenced by the war in Ukraine.
