The Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Prishtina marked 65 years of existence with the International Conference "Social and Human Sciences and Change."

As the first institution of higher education in Kosovo, established even before the University of Prishtina itself, the Faculty used this conference to celebrate its illustrious history. It also laid the groundwork for the future path and development of the social and human sciences in an era of artificial intelligence and rapid technological change.

It was affirmed that the Faculty of Philosophy must be a leading promoter of critical thinking at the University of Prishtina and was also described as one of the pillars of Kosovo's statehood. The event also highlighted the current initiative in the University Senate to honor former Rector Ejup Statovci, as well as the activist and former professor of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Prof. Eshref Ademaj.

During the event, attendees were addressed by the Rector of the University of Prishtina and a long-time professor of the Faculty, Prof. Arben Hajrullahu; the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Prof. Bekim Baliqi; and the Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Jusuf Zejneli. Following the welcoming speeches, the conference continued with its thematic segment, featuring presentations by renowned academics Prof. Rexhep Ismajli and Prof. Muhamedin Kullashi.

A musical interlude on clarinet and piano was then performed by University of Prishtina professors Nezahate Shala-Zeka and Astrit Mustafa. Furthermore, the Rector of the University of Tetova presented the UP Rector with a plaque bearing the image of the national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti-Skënderbeu.

The Faculty of Philosophy also honored its former professors and two leaders of Kosovo's academic, political, and social life, Fehmi Agani and Ukshin Hoti, with expressions of gratitude.

Professors from universities across the region, Europe, other countries, and the University of Prishtina will continue to present their views on the future development of philosophical, political, and social thought through discussions and presentations across four different thematic panels on Thursday.
