On the occasion of its 56th anniversary, the University of Prishtina (UP) expressed its gratitude to two longstanding partners: Savonia University of Applied Sciences in Finland and the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia.

The recognition was given for their strong academic collaboration, their support in raising UP’s international profile, and their excellent engagement with our students and faculty.

After accepting the honor during the central anniversary ceremony, Prof. Janez Vogrinc, Vice-Rector of the University of Ljubljana, spoke on behalf of his institution. He noted that the two universities share a long and well-established tradition of partnership.

Dr. Ardita Jahja, Head of Scientific Research and Research Manager at Savonia University of Applied Sciences in Finland, also addressed the audience. “I studied and worked at the University of Prishtina, and today I am here representing Savonia,” said Dr. Jahja, adding that currently eight UP students are studying in Finland. Cooperation between the two institutions began in 2010.

Internationalization and a global academic presence are among the University of Prishtina’s top priorities. In 2025 alone, the university signed over 100 cooperation agreements with universities, institutions, and organizations both locally and worldwide.
