46 Energy Auditors Certified at UP’s Center for Sustainability and Energy
Forty-six newly trained energy auditors from the University of Prishtina’s (UP) Center for Sustainability and Energy (QEQ) received their certifications today from Rector Prof. Arben Hajrullahu and Acting Minister of Economy Artane Rizvanolli.
These fifth-generation energy auditors, including 16 women, have now joined 318 others previously trained by QEQ.
In his address to the newly certified auditors, UP Rector Prof. Arben Hajrullahu urged them not to fear job insecurity, emphasizing that this field represents the future.
The Rector assured the auditors and attendees that everyone at UP, regardless of their position, is fully committed and proud to contribute to the country’s sustainable development.
Rector Hajrullahu further noted that one of his first priorities upon taking office was operationalizing the Center for Training and Innovation in Energy, established in 2024 by former Rector Qerim Qerimi with support from the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). He expressed hope that the center will begin operations soon, though MCC funds are currently under review.
The Rector stressed that the Center for Training and Innovation in Energy should not be seen as duplicating or competing with QEQ, but rather as complementing UP’s broader mission to build expertise in energy—locally, nationally, and beyond.
During the certification ceremony, remarks were also delivered by Acting Minister of Economy Artane Rizvanolli and UP’s QEQ Training Coordinator, Associate Professor Dr. Bedri Dragusha.
