32 PhDs Graduate and Take the Historic Oath at the University of Prishtina
In a formal ceremony held in the amphitheater of the University’s Central Library, 32 new PhD graduates of the University of Prishtina received their diplomas.
The graduation was presided over by the Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, Projects, and Innovation, Prof. Avni Hajdari. The Rector of the University, Prof. Arben Hajrullahu, presented the diplomas and conferred the title of Doctor of Science upon the graduates.
In his address, Rector Hajrullahu wished the new doctors every success and encouraged them to carry out their duties with honor, dignity, and dedication while upholding the highest academic and ethical standards. The ceremony also included thanks to the thesis supervisors and members of the evaluation committees.
“Our work begins with questions. What is remarkable is that the deeper we go into our scientific fields, the more we realize how much there still is to learn. Here at UP, we are proud to be working together to keep pace with the times in which we live,” said Rector Hajrullahu.
Following the conferral of degrees, for the first time in the university’s history, a doctoral oath was taken. The new doctors stood and, led by the rector, recited an oath affirming their commitment to the highest principles of knowledge, scientific inquiry, and academic ethics. The oath ceremony concluded with the academic anthem “Gaudeamus Igitur.”
On behalf of the new PhD graduates, Dr. Donika Elezkurtaj addressed the audience. “A doctorate is not the end of a path—it is the beginning of a much greater responsibility: to place knowledge at the service of society. Today we do not only receive a title; today we accept a mission,” said Elezkurtaj.
