Call for Applications - University of Regensburg
The Graduate School for East and Southeast European Studies announces an open call for two (2) part-time positions (50%) at the rank of Pre-Doctoral Researcher, with an anticipated starting date of 1 April 2026.
The initial appointment will be issued for a period of six (6) months in accordance with §14 Abs. 2 of the German Part-Time and Fixed-Term Employment Act. An extension for an additional six (6) months is intended, subject to institutional requirements.
Responsibilities
Selected candidates will be expected to:
- develop a high-quality, innovative proposal for doctoral research within the field of East and Southeast European Studies;
- prepare and submit a competitive funding application during the contract period, with the objective of securing support for their doctoral studies.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should hold an excellent university degree (Master’s level or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, and demonstrate strong research potential in topics related to East and/or Southeast Europe.

Remuneration
Compensation will be provided in accordance with the German public sector pay scale (TV-L), up to salary grade E13.
