UP SIGNS COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH THE AGENCY FOR GENDER EQUALITY
Today, Prof. Dr. Marjan Dema, Rector of the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina”, and Mrs. Edi Gusia, executive head of the Agency for Gender Equality in the prime minister’s office have signed an understanding agreement for the review of the Faculty of Economics curriculum and the implementation of the new subject “Gender Economics”.
The main reason of this memorandum is the cooperation of the two signing institutions in educational projects that are related to gender equality, in the building of capacities and cooperation in the field of the change/completion of the Academic curriculum of the Faculty of Economics in the economic sphere for gender equality conforming the local and international standards. The process of establishing a cooperation agreement, translating the university text and offering an international expertise for the placement of the subject is financed by the Swedish Embassy – SIDA, through the direct financial help for the Agency as well as from the supportive project NIRAS – CPM.

Rektori Dema tha që ka kohë që ka qenë i interesuar që UP-ja të këtë një memorandum bashkëpunimi me Agjencinë për Barazi Gjinore, i cili do t’iu shërbente fillimisht studentëve, e pastaj gjithë shoqërisë, ashtu siç synon ky memorandum. Ai u shpreh i lumtur për arritjen e këtij bashkëpunimi dhe shumë entuziast për rezultatin që futja e kësaj lende nga fusha e barazisë gjinore në planprogramin mësimor, do të sjellë tek studentët e UP-së.

Rector Dema said that he was interested for a long time in a memorandum of UP and the Agency for Gender Equality, which would initially serve students and then the entire society, just as this memorandum aims. He expressed his happiness in achieving this cooperation and was very enthusiastic about the result that the implementation of this subject from the field of gender equality in the syllabus will bring to the UP students.
Besides Rector Dema and Mrs. Gusia, Prof. Dr. Myrvete Badivuku-Pantina, Vice-Rector for budget and finances, Prof. Dr. Hysen Bytyqi, Vice-Rector for teaching and student issues, Prof. Dr. Dashamir Bërxulli, Vice-Rector for International Relations, Prof. Dr. But Dedaj, dean of the Faculty of Economics, professor Adriana Gashi, Mrs. Shpresa Zariqi from the Agency for Gender Equality, Mrs. Visare Gorani-Gashi from SIDA and Mrs. Blerinda Idrizi – leader of the project financed by SIDA were present in the signing of the memorandum.
Through today’s signing of this memorandum, the subject with a gender perspective “Gender Economics” will be added to the Faculty of Economics’ curricula, which will also be the first subject in the Balkans added to an Academic level.
