During its 17th meeting held on June 30, 2025, the Senate of the University of Prishtina (UP) unanimously approved the Regulation on the Work and Procedures of the Ethics Council and a new Code of Ethics, alongside a commission tasked with establishing specific provisions in this code for administrative staff and students.

For the first time, these provisions will ensure the Code of Ethics is comprehensive and applies to all individuals and constituent structures within UP.

The Senate also approved the preliminary list of doctoral students for the 2025/26 academic year and announced a competition to fill remaining vacancies in these programs from the first application round.

Senators postponed the amendment of the Regulation on the Office of the Ombudsperson of the University of Prishtina to the next meeting. They voted in favor of forming student groups across faculties, on the condition that the proposal be finalized within the next ten days. Additionally, the Senate ratified doctoral thesis topics and supervisors submitted by the Central Council of Doctoral Studies.

Several new and revised study programs that had previously undergone scrutiny by quality and academic committees were approved.

Unanimous decisions included launching supplementary recruitment calls for professors and assistant lecturers, extending contracts for current assistant lecturers, and appointing visiting professors to several UP faculties.

The Ethics Council’s decision to impose disciplinary measures against certain professors was approved with only one abstention.
