The Faculty of Arts at the University of Prishtina "Hasan Prishtina" and the Kosovo Philharmonic orchestra have organized commemorative ceremonies to bid farewell to the professor and conductor, Bahri Çela. The university library amphitheaters gathered family members, colleagues, friends and students of Çela, who with commemorative meeting reminded the life and work of the late professor.

On this occasion, prof. dr. Marjan Dema, Rector of the University of Prishtina "Hasan Prishtina" expressed condolences to the family, colleagues and students of Professor Çela, while stressing that his loss will leave an irreplaceable gap for all those who had the opportunity to recognize it.

"Professor Çela, for those who were lucky enough to know him, was a man of extraordinary knowledge and culture who knew how to communicate with the language and logic of courtesy, close to his students and colleagues. He gave a great contribution in the field of art and science, and it is his memory and appreciation that make this moment of sorrow so hard, as we say the last farewell to his personality, "Dema said.

On behalf of the colleagues of Çela has spoken prof. dr. Valbona Pula- Petrovci, professor at the Faculty of Arts. She recalled the co-operation with the professor as she considered him a good man and colleague, from whom she learned a lot. "If the true story of the orchestral music in Kosova is to be written, it cannot be written without the name of Bahri Çela," she highlighted.

During this commemorative meeting, for the attendees in the hall, Çela's granddaughter, Bora Çela has performed in the piano Frederic Chopin’s “Nocturne”. Meanwhile, the choir of the Kosovo Philharmony performed the work "Nënë" of Kushtrim Gashi and "Një lule" by Rexho Mulliqi, under the direction of Rafet Rudi.

Since 1978, Professor Çela has been a lecturer at the Faculty of Arts for the conduction and orchestra courses. Çela was one of the initiators of the founding of the Radio Symphony Orchestra of Prishtina. Çela along with other musicians in 2000 founded the Kosova Philharmonic, initially as an arcade ensemble and later as a chamber orchestra.
