The Brilliance of UP: Rector Welcomes Law Faculty Team That Secured Sixth Place Worldwide
The Law Faculty team, which secured sixth place globally at the Nuremberg Moot Court 2025 international competition, was welcomed today by the Rector of the University of Prishtina (UP), Prof. Arben Hajrullahu, and the Pro-Rector for Scientific Research, Projects, and Innovation, Prof. Avni Hajdari.
Students Morea Pula, Liza Rexhepi, Enxhi Avdyli, Rea Hadri, and Greta Spahiu, accompanied by the Dean of the Law Faculty, Prof. Avni Puka, and their coach Nisa Ferati, presented at the Rectorate the journey and challenges leading to their extraordinary success.
Rector Hajrullahu stated that the future belongs to the country’s youth and emphasized that achievements like these, along with positive news, make the competing students a source of pride for the University of Prishtina, the Law Faculty, their families, and all citizens of Kosovo.
He further urged participants of the Nuremberg Moot Court 2025 to motivate their peers and, in the future, to become coaches for UP teams in legal competitions. Meanwhile, Dean Avni Puka stressed that students achieving such milestones should always feel a part of the University of Prishtina.
In the Nuremberg Moot Court 2025 international competition’s memorandum-writing phase, 140 teams from the world’s most prestigious law faculties participated.
During the event, which simulated practices of the International Criminal Court (ICC), the Law Faculty students demonstrated highly professional preparation in international criminal law before a panel of internationally renowned legal experts.
The UP competitors first qualified among the top 40 teams and later secured sixth place in the final oral rounds. In addition to coach Nisa Ferati, the team’s mentors included Assistant Besnik Beqaj and Argjira Asllani, a former student and participant in the 2023 competition.
The final rounds of the Nuremberg Moot Court 2025 took place in the historic Courtroom No. 600 of the Nuremberg Courthouse, where Nazi officials were tried between 1945 and 1946 for crimes committed during World War II.
