The 24th Edition of the University of Prishtina’s International Summer University Commences
The opening ceremony of the 24th edition of the University of Prishtina’s International Summer University took place in the amphitheater of the Faculty of Education. Over the next two weeks, participants will attend courses ranging from Generation Z leadership and financial technologies to artificial intelligence, archaeology, cinematic special effects, and transitional justice.
In his address to attendees, the Rector of the University of Prishtina, Prof. Arben Hajrullahu, expressed gratitude to the local and international professors and students who joined this edition to teach and learn. He emphasized that the International Summer University represents UP’s flagship ambassador of internationalization, serving not only as an academic platform but also as a space for building new friendships and fostering cultural and social exchanges.
While welcoming the return of guests from the global academic community, Rector Hajrullahu shared a friendly piece of advice: during their visit to Prizren, they should stop by the fountain and drink water there, as legend says, whoever drinks from that fountain will return to Kosovo.
He also encouraged international professors and students to immerse themselves in the tastes and sounds of local culture: to savor traditional flija, experience the distinctive melodies of the çifteli, and discover Prishtina’s ancient symbol, the "Goddess on the Throne."
The ceremony also featured remarks by Acting Deputy Foreign Minister Liza Gashi, while Professor Dukagjin Muhaxheri from the Faculty of Arts honored the guests by performing several saxophone melodies.
The international professors participating in the 24th edition of Prishtina’s Summer University come from Japan, Poland, Spain, France, Greece, Turkey, Great Britain, Germany, and Italy. Additionally, over 130 international students are participating, representing various European countries and other continents.
