STUDENTS DRINK MORNING COFFEE WITH RECTOR DEMA – THEY DISCUSS ABOUT STUDENT LIFE IN UP

Rector Dema considered today’s morning coffee as the best coffee he had ever drunk. This, due to the fact that, it was accompanied from the discussion with students of the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina”, who responded to the call of the Rector, to talk about student life in UP.

Accompanied by Prof. Dr. Hysen Bytyqi, Vice-Rector for teaching and student issues, Assoc.  Prof. Flamur Hyseni, legal advisor, and Mrs. Blerta Dibrani, his assistant, Prof. Dr. Marjan Dema Rector of UP, closely spoke with students regarding their concerns and ideas they have for the improvement of student life in UP campus.

He invited students to get engaged and be a part of the transformation of the University of Prishtina, while assuring them that the management of UP is at their disposal to listen to complaints, requests, and ideas for change.

Dema said: “In our university, the student is at the center of it. In this journey, we want you to be those who will further continue transforming this university. I expect from you a lot of commitment and ideas in the journey toward the change of UP, because without the change of UP, there won’t be changes in Kosova.”

The present students, who were from the Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Philosophy, Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary, unanimously expressed their joy for the meeting with Rector Dema, meanwhile they considered the idea for the realization of this meeting as unique, but also very necessary for the University. They expressed their ideas and requests for progress in the field of teaching, in professor-student contact, in the field of information and technology, and other issues regarding the University and international partnership, for which they got responses in real time from the Rector and his team.

The students who participated in this meeting were: Lirik Veselaj, Fjolla Vukshinaj, Jeton Rugovaj, Beart Hyseni, Egzon Kelmendi, Muhamed Veliu, Adelina Morina, Flaka Spaqi, and Dafina Shala.

From now on, the meetings of students with the Rector will be monthly meetings, during which different topics that are concerned with student life quality in UP will be discussed. This meeting called by Rector Dema was organized with the purpose that the management be more informed with students’ challenges in their daily lives, during studies in UP.

Today’s meeting was realized under the motto: “Students first” and “I am UP”.
