Senate Re-announces Academic Staff Recruitment Competition

At an online meeting held on January 8, 2025, the Senate of the University of Prishtina decided to cancel two recruitment competitions following a ruling by the Supreme Court, and subsequently to re-announce a single competition that will incorporate the canceled ones.

In its ruling, the Supreme Court annulled paragraphs 3 and 4 of Article 153 of the UP Statute, which define the principles for appointment and promotion processes.

This refers to two academic staff recruitment competitions at the University of Prishtina announced on December 15 and December 22, 2025.

Following today’s harmonization, it was decided that a single joint competition will be announced in place of the two canceled ones. In a notice published on December 23, 2025, the University of Prishtina had already stated that it would fully implement the Supreme Court’s decision.

This Senate meeting was the first of 2026.

The University of Prishtina will always implement decisions of the judiciary concerning it and will recruit academic and administrative staff based on the principles of transparency and meritocracy, through fair and responsible processes designed to select the best-prepared candidates.
